To be a bee or not to be a bee
Trichius fasciatus, the Eurasian bee beetle, is an about 10 millimetres long beetle species which is present in most of Europe. Looking like a bee or bumblebee scares off predators. The main habitat of the Eurasian bee beetle are forest clearings in the mountains while he is rather rare in the lowlands. The pictures are from the Chiemgau region of the Bavarian Alps.
