ALTERNATE REALITIES
CARACAS \ HUMBOLDT
A typical morning. In a world that could have been. Atop and in-between the hills that separate Caracas and an endless ocean sits the Humboldt Hotel. A piece of history that might have been forgotten by time in another realm. However; the space represented in my vision is an idealized present timeline.
An exercise of appreciation for the history of the place. Where architecture becomes a mixture of small stories. The reinterpretation used unique engineering features within the site that at the time of its creation were considered ground-breaking to develop a symbiosis of new interactions. A ‘new’ location where Venezuelan pieces converge and create a mix of designs that synthesize the identity of the culture. This image reflects a space where the ideas of the past educate the goals of the present. An alternate reality.
