STRIA - Future Inclusive Shared E-Mobility Platform

THE PROJECT STRIA
The Inclusive Electric Shared Mobility Device for Hong Kong in 2040

Stria is a conceptual pilot program launching in Hong Kong by 2040, addressing the raising of the ageing population, ongoing public health crisis and congestion. The project includes (1) the inclusive transformable electric mobility device (EMD) for different mobile capabilities and (2) the highly expandable parking system specifically designed for urban areas. Together, the personal, flexible, and inclusive mobility created a feasible shared mobility solution to adapt to future urban travelling.

The STORY
In the future, public spaces and regional businesses are focused on the future development of Hong Kong. Hence, short-distance travel needs will increase. However, micro-mobility have not utilized as a mode of transit in Hong Kong due to poor infrastructure and the adaptability to narrow urban areas. In addition, the current shared mobility platform excludes most of the inactive users and is unable to deliver a better management system. Hence, there is an unmet need for a new sharing electric mobility platform that provides an inclusive, hygienic and seamless transportation solution together with a flexible parking system.

STRIA EMDs
STRIA EMD can switch between four modes for different activities and mobility level : Sport, Commute, Support and Companion mode. The EMD can switch to different modes (Sport, Commute, Support and Companion mode.), which have different maneuver methods and body support function for users with different mobile capability. Contributed by the TPU connection, the EMD have a 10 degree steering angle while protecting the wheel hub and mechanical structure between the handle.

1/ Double Brushless Motor
The main brushless motor wheel will be electrified and turned on when riding. The second motor will be activated when adjustments to the EMD is needed.

2/ Lockable ball joint
The ball joint will be unlocked while the micro actuator retracts in the Sport mode, vice versa for the other modes.

3/ Intuitive Control
The in-built goose-neck structure enables riders to tilt the handle to trigger 'forward' and 'backward' movement in scooter configuration.

STRIA Station
The slim configuration of the modular station is packed with disinfection function and double wireless charging walls which saves space and improves management efficiency. The conveyor belt allows the EMD to transfer systematically. All of these created a park-and-go system along with a painless automatic park and call function. Road maps in the future urban city are also designed to facilitate the traffic flow.
Excellent expand-ability
The numbers of station can be adjusted according to the demands, which ensures its mobility and flexibility to implement in any environment.

Compact & Modular
With 1/2 the size of a typical private vehicle, it can pack and wireless charge 13 devices by the double wireless charging wall.
The re-designed personal mobility lane will support dynamic wireless charging in the future, which has already started testing in the UK. The lane is designed to fit STRIA Station in every block. To facilitate the traffic flow on the lane, STRIA EMDs that is ready to be returned can turn into the parking area.
