Heorhii Narbut is a Ukrainian graphic designer. His work influenced the formation of graphic design in the country.
Rodovid Press organized a poster contest dedicated to his legacy. Works from the shortlist were included in the exhibition of posters At the Intersection of All Opposites.
I worked on the theme Between teachers and students: “Here we invite you to examine Narbut’s oeuvre from the point of view of a 21st-century designer and interpret the master’s motifs, graphic techniques, and themes in a new way.”
Narbut often used a triangle in his works. The idea was to discard all the things and see how the figure can look/sound itself.
Also, I was interested in looking at his typography in modern laconic design. The basis for the inscription is the letters of the title from the fragment “Act Narbutorum”.
I took my posters and pushed these things as far as I can.
