Shrek: The Musical

Shrek: The Musical
Tony Award-winning Costume Design by Tim Hatley, Draping by Kari Love at Parsons-Meares LTD
Skeleton costumes for use in a black light dance.  Multiple unitards made with faux trapunto utilizing foam applique techniques.  Hand-painted gloves were also included.  Developed in collaboration with a costume painter, each individual's anatomy had custom bone placement.  This set of costumes was my first draping project at Parsons-Meares, but unfortunately the number was cut from the touring production.
In an early version of the skeleton dance, it was followed by a slapstick chase with skeleton versions of Shrek, Donkey and Fiona.
For the tour I was charged with making new costumes and improvements on Pinnochio's costume (original draped by Sally Ann Parsons).  These changes included developing new knee and elbow structures for the unitards, creating new glove patterns, retrofitting pants to address problems created by new tumbling choreography, and making a new shirt.
