Competition project for the best design of the torch for the XXVII World Summer Universiade in Kazan in 2013.
How to connect fire and Kazan? Of course, through the image of the symbol of the city, the serpent Zilant — a mythological creature that had the appearance of a dragon and according to an ancient Kazan legend lived on a mountain near the Kazanka and Volga rivers.
The texture of the torch resembles the dragon scales, the colors — black, gold and red — repeat the colors of the city's coat of arms, and the fire bursts out of the mouth. A powerful, emotional, original and meaningful image.
