The Night Manager - Adult Fiction Cover
TASK
The task for this project was to participate in Penguin Random House Student Design Award 2020 Competition. I was required to design book covers from each category - Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction and Children.

CONCEPT: IN HIS EYES
The Adult Fiction book cover to redesign was The Night Manager by John le Carré. I have used iconic elements from the story: hotel, lock, and Jonathan Pine's eye. Eye represented Jonathan Pine was a hotel manager who always had to look after and care for the hotel. Also, he witnessed the accident/scene with his eyes.
A Short History of Nearly Everything - Adult Non-Fiction Cover
CONCEPT: EARTH WITH RINGS
The Adult Non-Fiction book cover to redesign was A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. A ring system is a disc or ring orbiting an astronomical object composed of solid material such as dust and moonlets. And mainly only Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune have ring systems. From that idea, I have wondered what if the earth has rings. I wanted to represent rings as different stories and facts around the planet. Moreover, the rainbow-coloured rings meant fun and exciting stories.
Goodnight Mister Tom - Children Cover
CONCEPT: BEECH & OAK LEAVE
The Children book cover to redesign was Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian. In this story, Beech and Oak leave appeared. The quote inside the story also inspired me: "Do you think said William, gazing over the wall at the oak tree, do you think you can die of happiness?" Therefore, I wanted to represent these leaves as the two main characters. Beech is William, and Oak is Tom.
