When I saw this competition for 'Fleetwood Mac', I had to enter.
The task was to reissue their landmark album Rumors. The suggestion was to reinterpret one of their album covers but to avoid mimicking the covers entirely.
After deciding to stick with a in my opinion a great album cover I didn’t want to develop it to much so the great design was lost. The use of the two colors worked so well the first time I did find it hard to stray away from the template I set myself.
As every designer knows you sometimes have an unsuccessful design and this would be mine. I have placed this in my portfolio to show using an already good design and trying to develop it isn’t always the best option to take. This design reminded me that design isn’t about developing something that’s already out there its about creating something new.
I place this project in my portfolio to remind myself that design is unique and in my opinion everyone should have one unsuccessful piece in his or her portfolio to help him or her develop as a designer.
