Redesign of Tim Burton's Beetlejuice
Our story opens, and the eerie is foretold immediately with the presence of a larger than life spider. This providing momentary distress for the audience but quickly replaced by the cheery if a little naive introduction of our main characters. The first beats of this movie will lull the audience into a false sense of idyllic country life as only hours into the couple’s staycation they are killed in a bizarre accident.
A young and hopelessly in love and desperate for a child couple, Adam and Barbra decide to take a few days off and staycation in their beautiful countryside home. After escaping the prying eyes of their nosy neighbour (and real estate agent) a quick spin to the local town, their luck runs out!
They will soon come to find they are not alone in their home. Unbeknownst to them, their nosy neighbour has sold their home right from under their now dead bodies. A new couple, The Deetz, and their teenage daughter, Lydia now occupy the same home as the deceased.

They immediately start to refurbish the house the house they always loved: Taking walls down to make open plans, adding Cortén steel extensions, water features or massive windows
The couple are now ghosts. And the once pristine landscape has become a hellscape of nightmarish creatures visible only to them. when the Deetzs look out they see exactly what they expect but Lydia their unusual and lonely daughter is plagued by visual hallucination, never quite able to see the monster in full.
After the  fateful car accident find themselves transported to the “other side”.
Fortunately for the recently deceased the afterlife seems to be the home they loved so much. Though they are trapped, the once pleasant countryside, rolling hills and green trees have been replaced with a monster filled hellscape. A giant many mouthed sand worm waiting to gobble the innocent couple.

Their world and safety have been reduced to the four walls they call home.
Trying to understand what´s going on and following their “Manual for the recently deceased” they travel to the Underworld, and Escheresque office were all the people who have ever harassed a civil servant in life are now cursed to spend an eternity fulfilling that role.

This is the labyrinth from which Betelgeuse is so desperate escape
In this bureaucratic labyrinth  they meet their caseworker: Juno, who explains them that they are unable to leave their home, and their only option is to try to scare the Deetzes away.
She also advises them to don't contact Betelgeuse, her former assistant, by any means.
Adam and Barbara attempt to scare the newcomers from their home, when this doesn’t work, (their haunting skill are dismal) they call upon the freelance bio-exorcist, the mischievous, rambunctious demon called Betelgeuse whose only goal is to escape the curse put upon him by any means necessary.

Will Beetlejuice help the Maitlands get rid of the Deetzes or does this chaotic spirit have a plan of his own?
As luck would have it the Deetz’s teenage daughter, Lydia might be exactly what he (Betelgeuse) has been searching for. A wedding would secure him to the real-world so he can partake in mischief to this heart's content.

Can Adam and Barbara put aside their desire for a quiet after life and save Lydia?
