GAME
The game as a metaphor for life. As children, we learn the very basic things of life through playing. Playing triggers imagination by forcing us to find new solutions. We learn how to come up with alternatives, how to find and hide things, how to affect and modify objects. We learn about cause and effect, about movement and reaction. We develop for the first time spatial and material senses. Playing teaches about interacting with others, about coping with failure, about transactions, losing and winning. Games are, in this sense, a mock-up of real life situations. They resemble a laboratory of experimentation, trial and error.

Moved by this idea, I created a series of illustrations that are inspired in cause and effect; stillness and movement. They are an approximation of movement seen in didactic games, arcade games and children toys. They speak about serious matters through the lenses of games, something that resembles the easy-going curiosity of children, but points out other aspects of life
