What My Glasses Say About Me

According to the Vision Council of America, approximately 75% of adults use some sort of vision correction. About 64% of them wear eyeglasses, and about 11% wear contact lenses, either exclusively, or with glasses. Over half of all women and about 42% of men wear glasses. Similarly, more women than men, 18% and 14% respectively, wear contacts. Of those who use both contacts and eyeglasses, 62% wear contact lenses more often.

I wear glasses everyday and people have opinions of what the see. Lets face it, glasses will say something about us. What do we want our glasses say about us?

I'm told people who have/ wear glasses look "smart", but honestly the reason I still wear them is because I can't fathom sticking my fingers in my eyes. So from that perspective, my glasses say "convient." However, from an aesstetic point of view, I try and go contemporary, and not too nerdy. I suppose on some level, they represent age as well.

My glasses are a means of expressing myself as sort of hiding myself. They are a tool I use to survive in everyday life. Without them, I would not have made it farm this long. I probably would have fallen off a cliff a long time ago.
