Simon Horn's profile

Lowe Singapore. Bits 'n pieces.

My time at Lowe was an incredible experience, where I had the opportunity to work across a variety of brands. Although I had to leave abruptly due to unforunate events related to family back home, I take with me a new found knowledge of writing across Asian nations, a diverse range of work, and many memories of the friends I made.

I have worked across Citra, Clear, Closeup, Knorr, and OMO. I would love to upload some of my later work but it is still in testing or it is confidential (until after Cannes) :).
Asia Spikes 24 hour Agency Shootout Competition. 12 teams from around Asia pacific face off to create a 24 hour print ad.

Brief: How do we bring Movember to Asia? Find a way to encourage Asian males to grow a moustache and/or spread the word of Movember.

Our idea: The aim was to spread the message of Movember, so we needed an idea that would go beyond the realm of conventional print ads. Eventually, we came up with an insight that allowed us to take advantage, and harness the power of, our target market's main method of communication - text messages.

Result: Top 3.

Young Lions 48 hour TVC competition.

Brief: Stop Singaporeans wasting water.

Notes: We actually shot and edited two concepts, and was the one that was submitted. We made this choice because of the ad's simplicity and 'Singaporean' undertones of close family bonds.
This was our second video we conceptualised, shot, and edited within the 48 hour time frame. After much deliberation and a divided office of opinions we submitted the former video. It was a tough choice, do you think we made the right call?
Singapore Anti-littering Campaign Radio spot.

We encouraged people to bin their litter by adding an incentive. If someone was seen binning their litter at randomised spots around Singapore, they could win a cash reward, taken from the revenue raised from litter fines.
Account: OMO washing powder (Dirt is good campaign).
With a $0 budget, how could we inspire a small group of children to put down their Ipads and Ps3s, get outside, and reignite the childhood magic of the outdoor world. Using a technology called 'Makey Makey', and spending weeks learning how to program, this is what we acheived.

Bic Pens Campaign.
Some typical Clear Shampoo print ads and editorials, the first account I worked on.

This editorial exhibits a cut out stream of water, with the body copy and product information on the following page.

Although not my main account, I did plenty of work on Knorr. Here is an example of a Knorr print ad.

OMO Australia 30 sec TVC.

My main account was OMO/Persil/Rinso/Breez (depending on the country).

I think must have written thousands of scripts, and was nicknamed the TET boy, after we were greenlighted for the Vietnamese new year script shown below this video.

Here is just a taste of the everyday work.
