In this project I wanted to support the culture of (urban) beekeeping in the Czech Republic and create a notebook for the beginner beekeepers. Since beekeeping is popular mostly among older generations, I opted for a fresh modern design to attract younger people. During the process I cooperated with actual beekeepers to make sure that the information and content of the notebook are relevant.
The purpose of this product is to be as functional as possible and therefore the design follows this requirement. The format is small (A6) in order to fit into any bag or a pocket. The binding allows flexible turning of the pages and can be opened in order to add or remove pages. This function is useful when the beekeeper wants to archive any of the notes or print out new pages and add them to the notebook. Stickers are a part of the package as well and they can be used in the calendar to mark important dates, weather forecast for next days etc.
The colour scheme is kept mostly monochromatic with accents of yellow. Where there are no illustrations I use typographical elements as the design feature.
