For International Women’s Month, our team set out with a goal of spotlighting and amplifying trailblazing women of California. In order to achieve this goal, we focused on interviewing women from different backgrounds and asked them, “who inspires you?” Popular names rose from their reflections, Vice President Kamala Harris, Dolores Huerta, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Sonia Sotomayor, Pro Tempore Toni Atkins, and March Fong Eu. All of these women are trailblazers and have paved the way for the women in our video who are now carving out history for young women today. 

As the women in the video reflect on the different adversities they each faced, the story unfolds of what it’s like to be a woman in the Caucus. Women are referred to as, “mothers, care givers, teachers, social workers, therapists, nurses, etc” the list goes on and on. But one thing they’re not often called is, “leaders”. Women are leaders and deserve a seat at the table.
