Pictographic tourist map of the District of Arembepe - Camaçari - BA, designed to integrate the communication strategy of the "Praias de Arembepe" Hostel. The project aims to support the hostel's user/client experience, offering an informative/functional mini tourist guide, instigating curiosity and highlighting the establishment's central and strategic geographic position in relation to the main attractions displayed on the map.

Requirements: establish the relative/approximate location of landmarks, main roads, services, supplies and tourist attractions, in a practical and dynamic mood.

Restrictions: The project interface would need to support digital and print media and communicate through pictographic language.

Solutions: printed support - 40x60 cm banner; language - flat design for color and values, flat icons and background added, axonometric (dimetric) parallel projection and top-down.

Region shape mapping

The pictographic tourist map intends to highlight for the reader the essentials of the region with a summarized orientation of routes, landmarks and features. In this approach, a selective distortion of the original form in favor of gain in legibility fits.

Representation of solid objects

In the absence of landmark buildings with striking silhouettes, it was necessary to offer a representation with "clean" and detailed views of the most functional points for the orientation and experience of the visitor. Dimetric parallel views and top down (oblique) recurrent in 2d games were the solution to promote the iconic feel to detailed objects.
