Plástico Infinito
Plastic Recycling Entrepreneurship
The project, Plástico Infinito, was created in 2016 by H. Sneyder Neira L., Robert Vivas, and Ivan Correa. Using the blueprints of the world renowned organization, Precious Plastic, the three members of Plástico Infinito developed machinery to recycle plastic and transform it into new objects.

Plástico Infinito is accredited with the installation of many recycling plants in different parts of Colombia. The main goals of this project are decrease the environmental impact of plastic waste, transform plastic waste into practical products, and teach disadvantaged communities about economic opportunity that can be found in the production of recycled plastic products.
The Departamento Administrativo de Gestión del Medio Ambiente (DAGMA) is the local office of environmental affairs in Colombia. The DAGMA, along with the local government in Cali, awarded the 2019 Samán Award to Plástico Infinito as the "Emprendimiento más verde" (the most environmentally friendly entrepreneurship).  This recognition was earned by Plástico Infinito's innovation and dedication to the reduction of plastic waste locally and nationally.
Taking the Precious Plastic project like a guide, we redesign the machines for the Colombian context and develop the Recycling Ecosystem. That include machines, molds, and knowledge for transform the waste plastic in usable objects. Community recycling centers are installed in different locations throughout the country such as Buenaventura, San Andrés Islas, Cali, highlighting the autonomous recycling center with solar energy in Mayorquín-Buenaventura, in agreement with private and governmental entities such as the CVC.
From the beginning of the project I detected that one of the problems was the lack of awareness when using a product and recycling it, so an educational strategy was devised and through practical workshops people could use the Infinite Plastic machines and transform your own waste on a new object. Hundreds of people were reached in different locations in the country through colleges, universities and local communities.
