Between Light & Shadows

Light comes from the sun and gives birth to shadows. Line materials that change over time become the optimal interpretations and demonstrations of beauty. During the design of this home, we convinced the homeowner to use window blinds which is made of hardwood as the curtains, enabling light to “dance” and “converse” on primitive materials such as wood, leather, stones, and iron. When the homeowner turns the blinds and let the sunset come in. Through the hardwood window blinds, light enters the room, creating a natural light “party” inside it. The western exposure problem in the beginning had been solved, even turns to a magical time that the whole family can enjoy.

光影經過

「光」來自於太陽的饋贈，無條件孕育了「影」的存在，那些隨著時間經過而產生的線條材質變化將會成為對於「美」最好的詮釋與演繹。我們當初在設計規劃時即說服屋主在窗簾設定上使用全遮光的實木百葉，透過葉片轉動，借光照影，每到傍晚日落時分，斜陽透過木百葉窗照射進屋內，光線在我們設定的木、皮、石、鐵等原生材質上舞動、對話，共同在空間裡上演了一場自然光影盛宴。短短一個小時，讓原本屋主最煩惱的西曬方位問題，霎時變成全家人最享受的魔幻時刻。
