I became interested in the idea of separation during this project. The assignment, to sculpt our foot, already separated the foot from the rest of our body. After brainstorming, I had the idea to split my foot in half and then connect the halves together using metal rods. To create a disconnected feeling between the humanness of a foot and the separation of it from the body, I covered the foot in marbled paper and coated the paper in gloss finish Mod Podge to achieve an artificial look.
