Nintendo - 35th Anniversary (Concept)
In the Xbox vs. PlayStation debate, Nintendo is on the outside looking in. With Nintendo’s classic games like Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt approaching their 35th anniversary, it was clear that “classic” is what they’ve been reduced to. A fond memory from gamers’ childhoods, sure. But games they’d play now? Not quite.

How do we recreate the passion for Nintendo that once defined the lives of these gamers? That was the challenge. To do that, we need to create a unique and memorable experience filled with the memories they once had playing these games.
Brand Experience 1: Using geo-location targeting and having users visit nintendo35.com when they are nearby the digital board, users will have the chance to play Duck Hunt on their phones. Players who manage to get all the ducks will be rewarded with a promotional offer towards Nintendo products.
Brand Experience 2: As someone walks by the digital screen, an 8-bit Mario will appear. Participants will be able to interact with Mario by jumping and moving back and forth. Whatever the player does, so will Mario. If the player manages to hit each Coin Box, they will be rewarded with an exclusive Nintendo offer that can be redeemed at EB Games.
