The seven deadly sins

The seven deadly sins can be defined as those from which the rest of the sins offshoot. They are the worst sins someone can commit according to the Christian religion. The main point of it was to indoctrinate the population and, in a more informal way, “to keep them calm”. In a dystopian world, this sins would be taken to the extreme, in its most exaggerated version. The consequences would be to commit them over and over again indefinitely.

In this collection, consisted of seven illustrations, each of the sins are represented with the digital collage technique. Every element that is shown makes reference to the sin itself, taking them to their maximum exponent. Usually, the seven deadly sins are represented in a grotesque and violent way. The collection drifts away from this topic and pretends to show a softened point of view with a vintage touch. The letters that appear in each collage form the English word for its sin: lust, gluttony, sloth... etcetera.

Los siete pecados capitales pueden definirse como aquellos de los cuales se ramifican los demás pecados del mundo. Son los pecados más graves que puede cometer una persona según la religión cristiana. El objetivo de éstos era adoctrinar a la población y, diciéndolo de una forma mas informal, “mantener tranquilita a la gente”.

En un mundo distópico, este tipo de pecados se llevarían al extremo. La consecuencia sería cometerlos una y otra vez indefinidamente.

En esta colección de siete ilustraciones se representan individualmente cada uno de estos pecados mediante la técnica del collage digital. Todos los elementos que se muestran en cada uno de ellos hacen referencia al pecado en sí, elevándolos a su máximo exponente. Normalmente, los siete pecados capitales se representan de una forma grotesca y violenta. La colección se aleja de este tópico y pretende mostrar un punto de vista mas "soft" y con un toque vintage. Los caracteres que se muestran en cada collage forman la palabra del pecado en inglés: Lust (lujuria), Gluttony (gula), Sloth (pereza)... etc.
