The client had several requests for this south-facing entry courtyard: provide screening from a heavily traveled street a few short blocks off of the world famous Sunset Strip, privacy from a popular hotel across the street, and a lush feel.
Calming green-on-green color and and plants with a variety of height and texture greet residents entering from the busy street. Dwarf magnolias and jasmine and gardenia fragrance the courtyard through the spring, summer and into fall, while in winter the camellias and clivia provide bright splashes of color. A hedge of open and airy pittosporum form an enclosing hedge that screens the courtyard from the street.
