A Budapesti Metropolitan Egyetem Divat- és Textiltervezés Tanszék képzésének kitüntetett célja, hogy az alapanyaghoz és a kézműves technológiához kötődő textiles kultúra tradícióit megőrizze és kortárs minőségekre adaptálja. Az ezirányú kutatások elméleti kompetenciái a feldolgozás és kortárs közegben való pozíció keresésére adnak lehetséges válaszokat.

A természetes, fenntartható alapanyagok anyagismereti és formatervezéshez köthető kutatása fejlődő ága a kortárs design területeknek, így a textiltervezésnek is. A taplógomba fatörzseken fellelhető kagyló alakú gombafajta, mely kikészített minőségét tekintve bőrszerű. Felhasználása széleskörű, a taplóművesség hagyományai a népművességhez, viselet kiegészítőkhöz kötődnek. Az alapanyag kikészítésének technológiája, az anyag minőségek varianciája és a megmunkálás széles skálája szakmai szemmel is érdeklődésre ad okot.

A korondi toplászat hagyományai napjainkban is még fellelhető terület. A taplóhoz köthető anyagmegmunkálási technológiák mesterek kezein keresztül tapasztalhatók.

A taplógomba vizsgálatán keresztül értelmezhetővé és átadhatóvá válik a természetes, fenntartható alapanyagok anyagismereti és formatervezéshez köthető tendenciáinak bemutatása. Az ökológiai tudatosság a tervezőképzés kiemelt törekvése egyetemünkön. Mindezek bemutatására a Budapesti Metropolitan Egyetem online szimpóziumot rendez.

Az esemény a pandémiás körülmények következtében online formában zajlik 2021. május 13-14-én.

A szimpozium felépítése 4 szekcióra épül, magyar és angol nyelven zajlik.

A szekciók a következők:

I. nap:

A prominent goal of the Fashion and Textile Design Department of the Budapest Metropolitan University is to preserve the traditions of textile culture related to the material itself and to handicraft technology as well as to adapt them and thereby attain a quality that is suitable for contemporary expectations. The theoretical competences of research in this area provide answers to processing possibilities and how to find the place of this craft in a contemporary environment.

Research on natural and sustainable materials from a materials science perspective and related to product design is an emerging field of contemporary design, therefore, of textile design as well. Tinder fungus is a shell-shaped fungus that grows on tree trunks and after tanning it has a leather-like quality. It has a wide range of use, and the traditions of the craft of tinder fungus processing relate to handicraft in folk culture and to accessories. The technology of material tanning, the variety in the material’s quality and the wide range of processing possibilities make it intriguing from the perspective of an expert as well.

The traditional craft of tinder fungus processing (‘toplászat’) in Korond is still an existing area. The material preparation technologies of tinder fungus can be experienced through the handiwork of the craft’s masters.

With the examination of tinder fungus, it becomes possible to understand and transfer the trends of materials science and product design related to natural and sustainable materials. Ecological awareness is a primary endeavour in our designer programme at the university. In order to discuss all these topics, the Budapest Metropolitan University organizes an online symposium.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the event will be held online on 13-14 May, 2021.

The symposium is structured into 4 sections and will be held in Hungarian and in English.

The sections are the following:

Day I.:

Day II.:

-‘ON TIME’ Student workshop finissage, moderator: Anett Papp

Az 'ON TIME' projekt egy négy hetes workshop, amin a METU mesterszakos művész hallgatói vettek részt. A workshop témája a fenntartható időmérő eszköz volt. A különböző szakokról érkező hallgatók párban dolgoztak, és taplóbőr felhasználásával hozták létre időmérő eszköz prototípusikat. A négy hét eedményeit a GLocal Szimpózium negyedik szekciójában, szakértői zsűri előtt prezentálják.

'ON TIME' was a four week long workshop project for design students in Budapest Metropolitan University. The topic of the mini course was sustainable timer tool. The students had to use amadou material andcreated their prototipes in pairs. The members of the pairs are from different majors. They have learnt a new sustainable design method. The outcomes of the four weeks are presented to professional jury at the 4th section of GLocal Symposium.
