Plant Creation Inside Cinema 4D Study

Software used: Cinema 4D, Octane, Photoshop, EOS Utility, Materialize
The creation of a plant, using selfmade textures and the corresponding 3D model, was something I wanted to do for a long time. Surprisingly, the workflow was a lot easier than I had expected.

I took the pictures of the plant parts with my Canon 650D. The camera is connected to the laptop and is operated directly from there using the EOS Utility software
The studio consists of a little stool on which lies a sheet of paper on which the plant parts are. As lighting serves a large window. I have chosen a very cloudy day so that no hard shadows arise.
Here you can see the raw images.
In Photoshop I created the texture layout and corrected the colors a bit.
Then I created a diffuse and transmission variant. To get more details I created a Leaf Rip Bump Map. The normal and bump map was created with the software Materialize which provides good control for such tasks.
Here you can see the final UVS.
The modelling process was really simple. I created a simple 3D model based on the texture. Then I brought it into shape using reference images.
After the model was finished, I rigged it and animated it using IK dynamics.
