STEP is a set of shoes designed for prosthetic legs
that are supposed to replace the old foot shells
During my research I have found out that there is one part of the prosthetic leg that hasn't changed a lot over the years - the Foot Shell.

Till these days, prosthetic legs companies are designing it to mimic exactly the shape of the foot without considering the needs of the men using the leg.

Throughout the project I met many people with hobbies and different ways of living that the foot shells they had didn't serve them well enough.
Step gives new approach for designing the old foot shell of prosthetic legs by considering the lifestyle of the amputee.
The topics I chose to focus on

Barefoot-

Foot shell that gives a new and fresh look to B.T.K amputees.

Helps to overcome some of the problems of the old traditional foot shell,
and gives versatile highest for the ankle with different insoles.

The closure of the foot is easy thanks to the quick
Lock lace mechanism.

During development I was looking for a clean shape that would give
an innovative look to the foot.

I was inspired by the shape of the foot.
From the research I found out that people do not want to get too far away from the traditional foot shape, and that there is an emotional charge that requires sensitivity to the target audience.

Surf-

Foot shell that gives a new and fresh look to B.T.K amputees.

Helps to overcome some of the problems of the old traditional foot shell, and gives a batter support on the surfboard.

It's easy to clean thanks to the Scuba fabric, and it's fast to take off.
The arched shape of the sole on the heel side compensates for immobility of the ankle joint, and the texture on the sole creates little vacuum pockets for better connection with the surfboard.

Climb-

Foot shell that gives a new and fresh look to B.T.K amputees.

Allowing better grip on the rock while climbing, thanks to the concave shape, and the material combination of hard and soft rubber.
The shape came through a study of different shapes that I tried through climbing,
the shape that was the easiest to climb with was concaved and with a sharp edge that helped climb small lugs
