MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF CRANKSHAFT USING CATIA & SIMULIA
In this project, we modeled a crankshaft based on a problem, in CATIA. Then this modeled component is analyzed in SIMULIA. The analysis of this component is done to obtain various kinds of stresses.
MODELING
The model of the crankshaft is done in CATIA. CATIA is a software 3DEXPERIENCE provided by Dassault Systèmes​​​​​​​. Part Design module in CATIA is used to model the crankshaft. The parameters of the crankshaft are taken based on a particular problem. 
a) Specifications of Crankshaft
          1. Diameter of the shaft = 30mm
          2. Diameter of the crankpin = 15mm
          3. Diameter of the crank web = 17mm
          4. Diameter of the counter weight = 60mmm
          5. Eccentricity = 0.5mm
          6. Thickness of Counter Weight = 20mm
          7. Distance between two counter webs = 50mm
          8. Length of shaft inside the counter weight = 30mm
ANALYSIS
The analysis of the modeled crankshaft is done in SIMULIA. SIMULIA is a simulation software in 3DEXPERIENCE provided by Dassault Systèmes. In this software the conditions and material that are to be applied on the crankshaft are specified and simulated. The simulation gives us the results of various stresses incorporated by the applied conditions.
