Jupiter Sky is a project where I wanted to combine my love of music, illustration, space, and design into one big endeavor. My solution to this was to create a fictional band inspired by bands such as Gorillaz or KDA.
The characters and the entire branding surrounding this band I created are based off of space and different facts about Jupiter that I acquired while doing research for this project. The band members are based off of the moons of Jupiter in look and personality. For example, Ganymede is the largest moon of Jupiter which makes it the most noticeable from Earth. Io is the most energetic character of the band like how Io is the most active planet with its active sulfurous volcanoes. Lastly, Callisto is the calmest character which represents the ice cold surface of the moon's surface.
The inspiration for the album cover was based off of the idea that Jupiter sky is more of an indie, pop/punk style band and they didn't have the budget to go and hire designers to create their album art. They maybe found a couple marbles or bouncy balls that looked vaguely like their planets and put them on strings to take photos of them. They don't know how to edit out the strings so they kept them there.

In reality, I modeled the planets and strings in Blender and rendered them out. I then corrected the colors in Photoshop, and added the typography in Illustrator.

For "Evil Eyes", their hit single, I used the same models for the glittery planets in the illustrated eyes of the cover for the single. I wanted the cover to give off a slightly creepy but energetic feeling that I would have felt if the song were actually real.
Every band dreams of going on concert and Jupiter Sky is no exception. I created a set of concert posters for the occasion that they could sell or put up around the city. I wanted to give each character their own poster because I thought I could really play more with the composition of each poster rather than cramming each of them into one poster.
I then reused the illustrations from the posters to put onto shirts with their names on them, and I put the band logo onto the back of the shirt in between the shoulder blades.

The other shirt on the bottom was a shirt that would probably be seen at Hot Topic or any other well-known pop culture store!
