Flow Sister is on a mission to destroy menstrual shame by creating simple and convenient packaging for women. With the main focus on late teenagers and adults in their 20s and 30s, consumers are encouraged to think outside the box in terms of their social perspectives surrounding the topic of feminine hygiene.
Flow Sister makes life easier by offering sustainable and simple packaging that can open and close more easily without product fall out. The simple solution to prevent the products from falling out entails eight cut-out holes in the packaging where the tampons are securely fitted into. The proposed packaging also makes use of sustainably recycled materials in order to maintain environmental responsibility.
Flow Sister also takes into account that with further development the designs can range from more loud and energetic to minimalist and discreet to suit different lifestyles and occasions as some women may prefer a more minimal design solution.
The core purpose of this project is to create awareness about feminine hygiene and normalising the subject by encouraging open conversation. Normalising this will eliminate awkward conversations where people would normally feel embarrassed. There is a need for society to feel more comfortable about this subject and this aims to take the stress off women feeling like they need to ‘hide’.
