40 Years of Creating Radio Magic

Alan Magnus
40 Ruby Red Years
Forty years of diligent duty edifying and informing a nation certainly qualifies Alan Courtney Magnus to claim the title of Jamaica’s elder statesman of morning radio.

The Mad Nut, as he is affectionately called, joined the RJR family in 1971 and has remained a hard-working and committed servant of the people.

From his first time on air alongside Marie Garth in the afternoons whilst also hosting the Saturday morning wake up show; through the Good Morning Man Show a year later, before being joined by Dorraine Samuels on Good Morning Jamaica, then Paula Anne Porter on Jamaican Morning; Alan has always been the timepiece that kept us on schedule and determined the pace and rhythm of our days

His sharp mind and quick wit has set the agenda for water cooler talk for generations and helped fashion a society along the norms of sound values, through helpful interactive features that speak to real issues and the Jamaican identity.

Always bright eyed and bushy tailed, he gets us up and at ’em every morning- a testimony of his dedication and love of radio.
