La ceinture des vents

The photographic work and collection of archival images "La ceinture des vents" ( = The Belt of the Winds ?) is the result of a creative residency undertaken by Cyrielle Lévêque in October 2019 on the territory of the Pays Haut Val d'Alzette (France). The book created takes us on a walk sometimes melancholy, sometimes utopian, where the testimonies of the past and the present mingle.
The first part presents the photographic work of Cyrielle Lévêque: it transports us into this territory marked by memories and makes us discover through her gaze, sensitive and poetic, the marks left by time on a deindustrialized region.
In a second part, printed on orange paper, the book uses the codes of an abundant photo album and brings together archive images of the inhabitants of the Pays Haut Val d'Alzette territory.
