Explorers of Tomorrow
Book, 2009
This was a book designed for my type class. The project was to take a subject, research what it would be like 10 years from now, and design a book around it. Growing up I remember buying an old book about the future of automobiles during a school library sale, and I was fascinated by the images inside. It was like a window to another world, so I chose to create a children's book about space exploration 10 years into our future, but from the viewpoint of someone 40 years in the past. In 1969 we had just sent man to walk on the moon, and I thought it would be interesting to see how that generation would view space travel and how that would compare to the advances we have made since then. It also allowed me to use the amazing illustrations of Syd Mead, who was a big inspiration for this project.

Thanks to Brendan Callahan for his guidance on this project.
