City of Marseille - Branding
Realization of the new visual identity of the city of Marseille. It is the oldest city in France founded in antiquity under the name of Massalía around 600 BC by Greek sailors and merchants from Phocaea.

The visual identity is inspired by the city's coat of arms, redesigned in a more contemporary way. Each element tells a story.
The crown represents the city walls. The blue cross symbolizes "faith and loyalty". The Caduceus symbolizes "Exchange and Trade". The Lion symbolizes "Strength, Power and Vigilance". The motto symbolizes "Marseille shines through its achievements". The Bull symbolizes "Patience, work and agriculture". The trident symbolizes "Sea and travel".

The ambition for the city of Marseille was to create a new visual identity while keeping the values of the past and being in adequacy with its historical heritage.

Activation
To announce this new identity to the inhabitants of the city of Marseille, the idea is that, each day, an element of the coat of arms is projected on a monument of the city. And so, on the last day, the inhabitants will discover the new logo of the city and the visual territory that has been created.
