For my final typography project i was assigned the poem "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou to create an expressive typography poster. I personally connected with the stanzas that mentioned the ocean's tides and the moon. Because of this I tried to created a wave texture out of the lines of the poem. I used color and font size to create a hierarchy in the lines in this poster. I put an emphasis on the lines including the ocean and moon. I put a large scale object of "rise" behind the lines of text, to create dimension by separating the typography and the background.
