When given the task to create a brochure for a location of our choosing I couldn't be more thrilled to design something for the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. I love the history and art Edinburgh encompasses and was invigorated to give it my own take. 

I tend to create the base of my designs as illustrations and this was no exception. I loved the idea of creating a hand drawn map of the city's main attractions as the main portion and was super happy with the way it turned out. 

For the front I knew I wanted to model it off of vintage travel posters, sticking with an almost monochrome illustration of one of Edinburgh's most famous landmarks. At first I went with the Edinburgh Castle and then Arthur's Seat but eventually settled on the Dugald Stewart Monument located at Calton Hill. It offers a wonderful view of the city. 

My favorite touch, however, happens to be the simple doodle of the city lining the bottom of the brochure.
