I was approached to create the branding for a new Events Company in Glasgow, called Platform 18. Glasgow Central Station has 17 platforms, and the new event space is under a railway bridge on Bridge Street, hence the name.
The logo form is based on a section of window that is prominent in Glasgow Central Station.
The client decided that they wanted to have a reference to train tracks within the typography. I experimented with many ideas and settled upon the one below, which has two lines cut through the letterforms, creating a section of rail track within the letter 'A'.
