I found this piece of driftwood, with some nails still stuck on it, at a beach on lake Michigan. I couldnĀ“t take them out so I left the wood on a shelf of the studio, until I could find the best time to work on it.

LastĀ october 2013 was a tough month, so to cheer things up I took the piece of wood and a well-known saying and played with them in a simple, abstract way.
The nails are still there, and they always will be.
