Motorcycle Knee-Sliders

Since I ride motorcycles on track myself I got the idea to make my own kneesliders.
Kneesliders are plastic "pucks" that motorcyclists use to drag their knees to the ground while taking a turn. By doing so they get a feeling of how steep their angle is.

I started looking up what kinds of sliders there were and I eventually decided to proceed using polyurethane.
After experimenting with different kinds of polyurethane I finally found a compound that I liked.

The next step was to make a slider template to make a mold out of. I did that by handcrafting a model out of PU foam. Once that was done I experimented with molding things and eventually decided to create a silicon mold since I could use that one multiple times without the quality degrading.
Since the purpose of the slider was to determine the feeling and durability of the slider, I stapled a patch of velcro to it and went out and tested it on track.
The first results were highly encouraging as the feeling felt smooth and soft. I couldn't test out how durable the sliders were right away because unfortunatly the track was quite damp, thus reducing the possibilities of putting my knee down.

This is the result after a season and a half of testing the sliders out on different tracks.
The sliders wore off on a very slow pace and the feeling was conistent throughout the whole slider.
