Publication of George Mačiūnas letters with various fluxus performances

Project created during my second year studies in Vilnius Academy of Arts. I had the chance to analyse the main ideological principles of the Fluxus artistic movement, studied its principles of creative expression.In the process i analysed  the auxiliary materials - artists' biographies, creative, epistolary legacy and so on. 

My task was to create a visual interpretation of George Mačiūnas letters. George Mačiūnas was a founding member and the central coordinator of Fluxus, an international community of artists, architects, composers, and designers. 

I decided to create a publication of George Mačiūnas letters that would also act as a guide book of various fluxus performances. For each letter I've picked a performance that had some sort of similarities with it.

Words, sentences that had the connection were hidden. The facing page shows the performance, its how to guide, with step-by-step pictures. The hidden words take the role of being performances themselves by appearing on the guide page instead.
