The main idea of the project is based on the concepts of Japanese art of the Middle Ages - Muzyo and Ukiyo-e.
Mujo is ephemerality, frailty, fragility and changeability of the world around us. Ukiyo-e is a genre of engravings that literally translates as the "floating world". These two concepts are inextricably linked.
The Ripples in the Water project is an attempt to alter our perception of our daily lives. This Installation is meant to be viewed outside in a state of nature and it’s a way to make the viewer pause in the moment and observe our ever changing and floating world.
The viewer should enjoy the grandeur and beauty of the landscape, but at the same time sense the fragility of the passing time’s moment. One can view our life as a stone thrown into the water: for a split second, it acts as a catalyst on the surface, changing its shape and state, but it’s only for a short moment...
