Jamna Bai, 28 years old, lives with her husband, his mother, and their 6 year boy old who tries to teach her how to read. She finds the stories in his books uninteresting, and wishes he went out to play more. Jamna works as a housekeeper in four other houses, of which she spends most of her time at an old couple's, who are both retired physicians. She adores their 16 year old girl, Ira — who reminds her of her own younger sibling she hasn’t seen in a decade, but whose aggressively vegan lifestyle she struggles to understand.
