The Lebanese Civil War

Water under the bridge: an illustrated story of a civil war
This is my final year project at the American University of Beirut. It's the product of 6 months of writing, drawing and executing and the graphical manifestation of another 6 months of research.
The story is a metaphor of the Lebanese civil war (1975-1994).
The region is an unstable, three story-building housing 4 peculiar individuals; Thouraya (Land owner, representation of Syria), Two brothers: Salim and Karim (Lebanon), and David (Israel).
Things start to go wrong with a water shortage...
A long, long time ago there stood an unstable, three-story building with the most complicated sewage system there is...
One day water gets cut off from David's apartment... He goes to Thouraya to inquire on this subject.
Thouraya's apartment, the three hanging portraits are an allusion to the Assad trinity portraits often displayed
as such in Syria)

Water dilemma gets worse and more complex than ever...
