World Art Nouveau Day

Submissions for WAND
I got invited to a design contest (restricted tender) by the Museum of Applied Arts Budapest, to create a logo for an annual event.
The World Art Nouveau Day is a part of the Interreg DTP (Danube Transnational Programme) project ART NOUVEAU2.
I submitted two main projects, the second one was shortlisted, did not win though.
The work of Pál Horti was (a recommended) source of inspiration, among other international examples, from Belgium, France, Vienna etc.
The shape of both projects resemble one of his pendant designs, that was the core.
The first project is a play with this shape, reversed and multiplied, which resulted in a motif, similar to a peacockfeather's eye spot.
I also wanted to incorporate Horti's characteristic whiplash motif somehow, and paired it with converging curved lines, resembling a 3D, architectural element. Chaotic energies matched with the more subtle dynamic of a ruled surface.  The result is peacock-like, which was completely unintentional, but got pointed out to me.
