I was commissioned by the Adobe Creative Residency  to create an original artwork based on a subject of my choice, on the Adobe Fresco App, which is so smooth and offers me so much power to create what I want. Working on this app feels more than liberating.

I used hues of blue, purple to celebrate the night. And also yellow, orange and white to invite the sun's energy to skin and the scene. What really amazed me was how smooth it was to work on her skin texture and tone, I really had fun creating this.

As always, I started off with a hand-drawn version of my Goddess. Which is an important part of my process, I find it easier to transmit emotions and values when I start with pencils and paper. It helps me envision how it is going to look and fit in my canva.

Creating her has reminded me how we, as Haitians, are so connected to nature, its mysteries and how we celebrate creation and existence with a lot of passion and devotion.

A huge thanks to the amazing people of the Adobe team for believing in me and having me for this creative residency, which adds so much perspective to my vision as an artist and helps me shape my art direction with peace on my mind.

Original idea and illustration by Pierre-Richard Raphaël (Pyelila). Please feel free to check out my other work at :
