'BISCUIT'
BICYCLE BASKET
The goal of this project is to design a product that allows you to transport/carry something/someone on a bike. And the final concept is a ‘biscuit’ basket which has the appearance of jam sandwich biscuits and can be easily taken away from the bicycle.
The ‘biscuit’ basket is the storage basket that can be attached to the rear seat of the bicycle. It mainly consists of 3 parts - a polymer frame, 2 wooden decorative boards, and a wooden handle. The frame is the main part of this product. It is connected to the wooden ‘biscuit’ board by screws and connected to the back seat of the bicycle via some elastic clips. When users need to use the product alone, they just need to pull the handle up to remove the product from the rear seat of the bicycle.
In terms of the structure, thick wooden boards are installed on both sides of the ‘biscuits’ basket, which was the most easily broken part of the product in an accidental impact. The wood board plays a certain buffer and protection role in this product and prolongs the service life of the product. Besides, each module of this product is easy to be replaced, which increases the technical lifetime.
