Hadley Kubicki

Hi, everyone! My name is Hadley Kubicki and I am a Visual Communication Design graduate with minors in Strategic Communications and Art History here at the University of Kansas. I have been so blessed with the opportunity these past few years to learn and grow not only as a designer, but also as a person. The KU Design program has helped me develop skills and my love for branding, publication design, and typography. I am excited to take what I have learned into the new chapter in my life. Check out some of my work below!

THE HIDDEN WOUND: INVISIBLE NOT SILENT

For my thesis, I created a publication that explored the science behind PTSD, put forth personal testimonies recounted by trauma victims and presented coping mechanisms for survivors. My six word pitch to my class was “The Hidden Wound: Invisible Not Silent.” Fall 2020, Publication Design.

FLORENTINE

A sans serif type revival that is retro with a modern, edgy twist. With its sharp edges and varying widths, this funky font can be used as both a display typeface and body text.

SHAMAN CBD

Shaman CBD is a rebrand of the wellness company CBD American Shaman. The original brand was outdated, cheap and didn’t fit the organization’s vision and values. The new rebrand better represents the company’s mission to bring wellness to all humans and the Earth through soft and organic styling. Shaman CBD has a narrowed and direct brand that can be applied to many different products and promotional pieces. Fall 2020, Rebrand.

VERSAILLES

This project required us to design a website for a multicultural restaurant. We were introduced the disciple for designing for dynamic media with focus on hierarchy, user experience and interaction, and navigation. Versailles Restaurant, “The World’s Most Famous Cuban Restaurant,” has been serving tasty Cuban cuisine and culture to the South Florida community and tourists from around the world for four decades. Soon after it opened its doors in 1971, Versailles quickly became the gathering place and unofficial town square for Miami’s Cuban exiles. Fall 2020, Website Design, UX/UI.
