Building a solution to a persona's breakfast needs
I had to create a breakfast carry-on product for a persona that has specific needs. The persona wanted a packaging that won’t break apart and is not liquids/gels/yogurt. The persona needs to be able to store the food without refrigeration at room temperature. Due to health issues, she's on the search for low sugar breakfast foods, however she occasionally enjoys chocolate.

Solution
Healthy duo-snack container
BLISS is a healthy protein-based duo-snack that contains all-natural ingredients, bringing both savory and sweet into one. The cylindrical container is secure, but easy to slide open. The benefit of a cylindrical container is that it takes less space and is easy to store in travel bags. There's a flap on the inside to create less mess and to separate the two options. The sweet side carries granola mix with dried fruits ranging from raspberry, blueberry, apple, strawberry, apricot, and banana. Granola mix can include additional flavors such as dark chocolate, sea salt, and peanut butter. The jerky flavors range from beef jerky, teriyaki jerky, turkey jerky, and jalapeno jerky. BLISS prioritizes the heart of customers and the environment from healthy food options to the recyclable cardboard material packaging. Always on the lookout for healthier and tastier options that are easy to bring wherever your heart desires.

First Iteration
"The Earth is in your hands. BLISS cares about the environment and the users health." The packaging design is aimed towards health-conscious women from 18-30 years old. In the center, mother nature holds a heart full of healthy snack choices. The main flavor profile I went with is raspberry + granola and plant-based teriyaki jerky. The packaging container will be based on the color of fruits with the granola from the band to the ribbon.

Critiques
Based on the feedbacks from my mentor and peers, the packaging of the container lacked substance to stand out. There was potential space to be used by the packaging label on the cap. In addition, the mother nature hands were oddly green and did not create a connection to the consumers. The blank space on the packaging label was not attention-grabbing enough.

We understand customers have different taste buds, therefore we made a healthy duo-snack container. BLISS’s website provides customers an option to pick and choose their own variety of nuts and jerkies in the flavors available. Bliss doesn’t only have to be for travelers but for anybody who is health-conscious and simply wants a fulfilling snack.
