Sweet since ages
Badawy Pastry is an Egyptian company specialized in sweets manufacturing and selling.
Founded in 1998 at Damietta city by the late Cap.Walid Badawy, the company has a great experience and a wide range of customers through Egypt who are living in Damietta or visiting it.
When we collaborated with Badawy, their current branding was inconsistent. They had different packaging and signage systems using different logos and colors palettes. So it was important for us to refine all that and have one unique identity that is applicable for the many categories they have.
As the brand didn’t have a logo mark before, it was essential to establish one. In the logo exploration phase, we tried coming up with a complex shape that looks royal to represent the brand heritage.
We were inspired by the industry realty and elements such as dough, chocolate, ribbons, and occasions gifts. And since our main objective was set a unified visual loo for Badawy, we modernized their current type as it lacked identity, however we didn’t go for a complete change as the brand has presence in market and a drastic change would be costly when it comes to recognition and application
The pattern was basically inspired from the logo. We worked on different combinations so they can be used for different purposes.
When selecting the type, we made a choice based on the legibility metric. However, we set guidelines for other typography selection to suit the advertising campaigns created especially being written in Arabic and having a local accent.
