VISUAL IDENTITY FOR IDÈE FIXE
Idée Fixe is an idealistic film production company whose central values are based on compassion, humanity and sincerity – something that stands out in their line of work. They make videos, TV- and film productions that inspires people, as well as serving informative purposes. The team behind Idée Fixe can be described as a group of people with a great deal of creativity, playfullness, courage and professional know-how. They wanted a visual style that reflected upon their values, mindset and personalities – and that clearly stood out amongst their competitors. Saul Bass´ legendary illustrations and posterdesign from the 1950s- and 60s was a clear visual reference to the design.

 

 

 

 

We developed an illustration style that captured the essence of their reference by using clean geometric shapes, showing playfullness in use of colours – yet with a restricted colourpalette, using just black, white and one additional colour at the same time. The illustrations are playfull, innocent, idealistic and genuine. They have a somewhat clear, conceptual and direct meaning to them, with a bit of a naive approach, and are everything but corporate – as were the intention and request from the client.

 

 

 

 

The businesscards has a custom illustration for each of the partners, and they have chosen their own personalized image and quote to represent themselves. This fits right in with the profile and functions as a point of interest, triggers curiosity and leaves questions, with the receiver of the card. The idea is to keep contacts coming back, be remembered and keeping the communication personal and including.

 

 

 

 

We have also created a custom logotype – Foxy display, that has the same visual expression and friendliness as the profile in general. When you look at it up close it has a lot of quirky details and peculiarities that forms a unique personality. The font is based on the handdrawn logotype.
