Creating this BTS video for TikTok was a first. I have absolutely no experience working in TikTok, so it was very eyeopening to give it a try. Going into it, I didn't exactly have a built out concept, simply a few clips I asked my trusted assistant to take whilst we were on set (in my living room) shooting the brief. As I started piecing them together, I decided the most successful concept would be to lean into the "shooting from home" element. I ended up creating a how-to guide for shooting from home by using quick cuts of the day paired with an upbeat song and step by step text bubbles. From what I know to be true about TikTok, users love to see how things are made (photos/videos/bitcoin/etc.) because it demystifies the process of complex work that they wouldn't otherwise have access to. With this knowledge, I set out to inform my viewers on how to correctly plan and execute a successful photo shoot. I've since posted the video and have around 530 views so far!
