The firemen plane in the Albera.

On July 19, 1986, a fire was declared in the Vallespir, shortly after do to the north wind the fire spread into the Empordà. In the face of the magnitude of the tragedy a French DC-6 adapted for extinguishing fires joined the fire control tasks, ending up crashing into the Serra de les Canals, in the Albera Massif due to the strong wind. The four occupants of the aircraft died and it was decided to leave the remains of the plane in place in honor of the occupants: pilot Jean Pierre Davenat, co-pilot Jacques Ogier, mechanic Roland Denard and assistant Jack Le Bel.

El 19 de Juliol de 1986, es declarà un incendi al Vallespir, al cap de poc apressat per la tramuntana passa a l’Empordà, davant de la magnitud de la tragèdia un DC-6 francès adaptat per l’extinció d’incendis és va incorporar a les tasques de control de l’incendi, acabant estavellat a la Serra de les Canals, al Massís de l’Albera per culpa del fort vent . El quatre ocupants de l’aparell moriren i és va decidir deixar les restes de l’avió al lloc com a homenatge als ocupants: Jean Pierre Davenat pilot, Jacques Ogier copilot, Roland Denard mecànic i Jack Le Bel ajudant.
