When creating this poster to promote the Art and Design Program at Medicine Hat College, I thought about how I could explain it's essence with one phrase or action. How could I represent the traditional and digital sides of this course, and therefore attract the broadest audience?
I landed on the idea of "playing with space", because everything we study comes down to how to manipulate and decorate different spaces for all different kinds of functions (or no function at all). I thought it had a playful and exciting quality.
Using collage and real cut paper shapes, I blended art and design into a singular composition. This is a technique that represents the duality of the Art and Design program and of my own creative direction.
